OBJECT DESCRIPTION

With the Athleticum at Volkspark, a modern center of excellence for holistic exercise, sports, and preventive medicine has been established in the immediate vicinity of the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. The health center sets new standards in the care of sports-oriented patients. In addition to state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic services, highly specialized training facilities are available, including a spacious training area with a running track running over the roof. The centerpiece of the Athleticum is the "SwimEx"—a dynamic exercise pool unique in Germany. Architecturally, the building, designed by Spine Architects, impresses with its large glass facades, clean lines, and sporty, dynamic character. The tenant and partner of the three-story new building is Athleticum am Volkspark GmbH, a joint venture of UKE, Philips, CTP.BIZ, and HSV. Together, they unite medical excellence, innovative strength, and top-level sports expertise under one roof.

VITZTHUM Projektmanagement GmbH took over the project after the general contractor's insolvency in February 2024 and successfully completed it following individual tenders.
