A large glass roof allows daylight permeate deep into the building. The Alter Wall project development has created a boulevard with retail facilities, restaurants, offices and the “Bucerius Kunst Forum”. It is part of the Business Improvement District (BID) “Nikolai-Quartier”. The BID is a specific Hamburg legal construct for the participation of private property owners in upgrading measures in public street areas.
