The 3-star hotel 'the niu Bricks' was built near the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf in the district of Eppendorf. The hotel owes its name to the typical Hamburg facade design with red clinker bricks, which is also reflected in the interior design of the hotel. During the design phase by the Mäckler architectural office, the aim was to create the impression of a brick façade, partly because of the immediate vicinity of the listed Telecommunications Office (built 1927-29).
The building with first floor and nine upper floors comprises 192 hotel rooms (380 beds) on a total gross floor area of 6,600.00 m².
