Resumption of construction work on the Athleticum at Volkspark
After an interruption of several months, during which essentially only substance-preserving and protective measures could be carried out, construction of the ultra-modern competence center for sports and exercise medicine in Hamburg officially resumed on November 4th, 2024.
The construction stop, which was triggered by the insolvency of the general contractor, made it necessary to reorient the project financially, in terms of scheduling and organizationally. All obstacles and imponderables have now been overcome and the path is now clear to the successful completion of the Athleticum.
The center will be built in the immediate vicinity of the Volksparkstadion and will serve as a medical competence center with state-of-the-art equipment and innovative treatment methods and will benefit both HSV's professional athletes and the general public.
The new building will not only feature modern infrastructure, but will also enable environmentally friendly and future-proof operations using sustainable construction methods and energy-efficient technologies.
The Athleticum is one of the city's most important health projects and is intended to become a pioneer in the field of health care and medical research in northern Germany in the future.

Laying of foundation stone for the “coop headquarter” in Kiel
On 2024/09/12 the foundation stone was laid for the new headquarter of coop eG in Kiel.
Office, practice and retail space, a daycare center and around 100 rental apartments, including assisted and inclusive living, are being built on Sörensenstrasse, the former and future headquarters of coop. A modern REWE store will ensure local supplies for the district and the surrounding residential areas.
The construction project covers a gross floor area of around 33,000 m². Particular attention is paid to sustainable design, which, among other things, relies on green courtyards and as few sealed areas as possible. Certification according to the DGNB Gold standard is sought.
